Growing up in the "big city" of Auckland, I've always been a fan of fashion and hair and handbags and shoes. But also, being the creative that I am, I have always been a Maker of Things. I started my career as a Graphic Designer and have added Knitwear Design to that portfolio in recent years (you can find my knitwear designs at Hanging Rock Roost). I have spent many many hours perfecting my sewing skills, starting with small things like kids toys and wheat bags, and progressing to sewing much of my own wardrobe.

This is what has ultimately lead me to designing and making leather handbags.

My name is Vanessa Harper. I live, with my husband and three growing young lads on a couple of acres in rural South Canterbury. We love the lifestyle we have created here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I cannot do all this alone though. I have lots of beautiful people who help me choose the perfect leathers and metalwork for your bags and accessories. And the product range is growing daily, if not actually in production, certainly in my head!
